How much do auto insurance calls cost?
AcquireCalls quotes pricing for the markets and call program available to your agency. Bring your licensed states, answering hours, target volume, and budget so we can review the proposed price and terms together. There is no single published rate that applies to every agency.
Calls that do not reach the agreed minimum duration cost $0. Your offer should specify that duration, when the clock starts, and any other requirements a call must meet to be billable. Reaching the duration threshold is not a guarantee that the caller will buy a policy.
This guide helps you compare an actual offer. For a walkthrough of sourcing, agency fit, and setup, start with the guide to buying auto insurance calls.
Read the price alongside the call you are buying.
| Term | What to establish |
|---|---|
| Markets and shopper criteria | Which states and insurance needs are included, and whether they fit your carrier appointments. |
| Call source and delivery | What prompts the shopper to respond, who initiates the call, and any screening before you answer. |
| Duration and qualification | The minimum length, timer start, and other billable-call rules. |
| Distribution | What exclusivity covers: the current live connection, the contact record, or another defined scope. |
| Funding and adjustments | Deposits, minimum spend, any fees, approved-credit rules, and unused-balance terms. |
Call programs can differ across several of these terms at once. Compare the written offer as a whole. Use the call vendor checklist to record the answers before funding an account.
Keep delivered, answered, and billable calls separate.
A delivered call is an incoming opportunity. An answered call reached your team. A billable call met the program’s charging rules. Those counts can differ, so multiplying every incoming call by the headline price can overstate what you actually owe.
For an illustrative 90-second threshold, a call ending at 60 seconds would not reach the duration requirement. The 90 seconds are an example, not an AcquireCalls standard. Your written offer establishes the actual threshold, timing method, and other conditions.
Ask what happens to unanswered calls and repeat callers, how disputed calls are identified, and when a credit becomes approved. Keep a requested credit separate from an approved adjustment when reviewing spend.
Compare cost per bound policy.
A lower call price can still produce a higher acquisition cost if fewer of those calls become policies. The useful comparison is the spend and policy outcomes from the same group of calls.
Call spend per bound policy = call charges after approved credits ÷ policies bound from those calls
Use a consistent follow-up window. Keep staffing, overhead, cancellations, and chargebacks separate when assessing the full cost of acquiring and retaining business.
| Measure | Example A | Example B |
|---|---|---|
| Billable calls | 100 | 100 |
| Price per billable call | $30 | $45 |
| Call spend, with no credits or fees in this example | $3,000 | $4,500 |
| Policies bound | 5 | 10 |
| Call spend per bound policy | $600 | $450 |
The example changes both price and bind rate. Paying more does not itself produce better results. Use your agency’s observed outcomes to judge the program, and use the cost-per-policy calculator to explore assumptions before you have a complete test.
Set a test budget your team can answer.
Start with staffed answering hours and the number of simultaneous conversations you can handle. Leave time for quoting, documentation, and follow-up. A large daily cap is not useful if calls arrive while every producer is already occupied.
Confirm funding and minimum commitments, choose a review point, and document how to pause or adjust delivery. At review, check answer rate, market fit, quotes, policies, charges, and approved credits together. Keep source or campaign labels with call IDs so an issue can be traced back.
Before the first calls arrive, share the inbound-call conversation guide with the producers who will answer.
Get pricing for your agency.
For an AcquireCalls pricing discussion, send the states you write, your answering hours and time zone, the number of available producers, your desired daily volume, and a comfortable starting budget. We’ll review current availability and the proposed terms before you decide.
Ask AcquireCalls about current call pricing, or bring those details to a scheduled conversation. You do not need to send consumer records to ask about a program.
Put the results alongside the offer.
